A future for the auditorium

Cultural rehabilitation and use plan

This project involved drafting a Use Plan and Master Plan for the Cultural Rehabilitation of the Vocational University of Cheste’s auditorium, which was designed by the architect Fernando Moreno Barberá. The study forms part of the Keeping It Modern programme, whose objective is the preservation of architectural works pertaining to the modern movement.

As part of a multidisciplinary team lead by the UPV (Polytechnic University of Valencia), Fent Estudi developed a participatory methodology permitting both a diagnostic of the auditorium’s current situation and a potential action plan for its future, drawn up in conjunction with stakeholders and representatives from the public, private, academic/research and civic arenas. This process was named A future for the auditorium and involved questionnaires, conferences, interviews, interest groups and so on.

The video shown at the beginning contains extracts from interviews with different experts in the field of cultural rehabilitation and management.
